She and her daughter, Kennedy, have volunteered with Pet Partners for over seven years, and Katie became staff with Pet Partners three years ago. Pet Partners has a proclamation from Pulaski County proclaiming April 30 as National Therapy Animal Day.

It all comes down to methods, personality, and certifications. You deserve a nice trainer, and I view a nice trainer as:

Actively listening. This means asking questions and hearing you without jumping to respond.
Acknowledging the good things you’ve done with your dog and the hard work that you’ve put in so far.
Finding a method that works for you and your dog.
Explaining what they’re doing, why they’re doing it, and showing you how to do it.
Exercising appropriate boundaries.

Episode 5: Fundraiser for CARE

Things over here at Telltail Dog Training in Little Rock have been mostly at a standstill, but I've been able to work on some cool things despite social distancing. After a consulting project with CARE for Animals, I decided to do a fundraiser for them AND launch a rescue series I'd been working on for a pet magazine.

The rescue series will start next week, featuring rescuers from around the state.
